Our Interest in Pinterest!

Every one that knows me knows that I am NOT the queen of social media. I love to keep our current KND updates up on Facebook and Twitter, but rarely spend a lot of time on either. I see both as message boards of sorts rather than a means of communicating. I have to admit that I am a bit old-fashioned when it comes to communication…loving to talk rather than type and preferring to hold to read rather than scroll.
AND THEN CAME PINTEREST! Wow! We have certainly been bitten by this social media bug! It all began with Reagan’s personal board (you know she’s planning a wedding, right?) Then, we had an amazing a-ha (or rather DUH!) moment that Pinterest is the PERFECT answer for our bride’s style files. Now, rather than receiving the multitudes of huge email files and endless magazine clippings – we receive one link to our brides’ Pinterest account. Phone appointments have never been more fun! We can all look at the site together, bouncing from image to image. The entire process is wonderful. It creates the perfect platform for a meeting, is SO green, highly-organized, and allows for edits and updates. The fact that is so FUN that it is addictive is the only possibly dangerous side-effect to using it. For now, though, it is an invaluable tool at KND.
We are proud to announce that we now have a KND Pinterest account! Set up by our wonderful 2012 intern, Lillie Simpson. Lillie has spear-headed setting up our account and will be loading it up with amazing images every day! Thanks to Lillie for making it happen!
The Power of the handwritten thank you note…
Thank you notes have a long legacy as being an absolute CHORE and one that every bride and groom ‘face’. Your outlook on thank you notes can completely change the experience. Just like all other aspects in life, its all about your perspective.
Our collection of handwritten notes and letters from brides, grooms, mothers, fathers and even kids (that thought their Bat Mitzvah was the most awesome ever) are some of our most prized possessions. I actually sometimes wonder if I should keep them in a safety deposit box!
Just this morning, I arrived to the office to find a thank you note that came over the weekend. It MADE my day to know that someone took time out of their busy schedule to put thoughts onto paper, stamp and mail it just to me.
When writing your thank-yous, whether it be for a shower, party or wedding gift, make it fun & keep it interesting. Don’t just write about the gift, include a personal thought about the person you are writing to. It will make it go much faster! With each note you write, you will feel great about how you are going to make someone’s day!
P.s. Having gorgeous stationery and a great pen also makes it MUCH more fun!
